Scouting works like this
- Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Explorers
- Each section has a leader
- Each section is part of a group, 16th Bermondsey in our case
- A group is run by the GSL (Group Scout Leader) and the Committee
- A group is part of a District, Southwark in our case, which is run by a District Commissioner aided by Assistant District Commissioners for each section (Beavers etc.) and other roles such as training
- A District is part of a County, Greater London South in our case, which is run by a County Commissioner aided by Assistant County Commissioners for each section and other roles
- A County is part of a Region, London for us
- A Region is part of a country, the United Kingdom in our case (but you knew that), which has the Chief Scout as its figurehead – currently Bear Grylls the adventurer, survivalist and all round tough guy.
