- Lighting a fire with a firesteel – then toasting marshmallows over it!
- Putting up tents to practice for our camping weekend
- Photo scavenger hunt in the local area
- Map-reading treasure hunt along the river.
- Mini sports evening
- Building a balloon launcher from staves and rope
- Walking to Stave Hill to take bearings from the top of it and identify trees at the bottom
- Making woggles from paracord
- Learning knots
- Learning to carve wood safely
- Team-building challenges
- Lots of games
- …and more!
We also sometimes run weekend activities, which have included recently…
- Camping at different South London Scout campsites. As well as putting the tents up and cooking our own meals, we tried archery, climbing, made pizza, and built shelters in the woods
- Learning to use an axe to chop firewood then making a fire and cooking sausages
- Hiking in various green areas reachable by train from Bermondsey.
