Virtual Visits

In 2021, as lockdown has continued, 16th Bermondsey have been organising Virtual Visits to some pretty interesting places with all members of Scouting invited to join us. Places are usually limited to 500, frequently with all tickets allocated within a few hours.

Tours are advertised first on 1st Virtual Scout Group on Facebook

VIRTUAL TOUR OF AMAZON

Wednesday 7th July 2021 @ 19:00BST (18:00GMT)

In this special Scout version of the standard Amazon public tour, we’ll be exploring inside their warehouses with our hosts explaining how the item you ordered online gets from a warehouse shelf to your front door. There is an awful lot of clever stuff to see including robots and a ride on automatic conveyer belts that link everything together. You will not believe how big these warehouses are.

HOW THE TOUR WILL RUN

Amazon are running the ticketing and hosting the virtual tour on their systems. On the night there will be myself and at least one other Scout Leader online as co-presenters. Members of the audience will be able to see the presenters but not interact with other audience members.

TICKETS

Every device used to watch the tour needs a ticket. When you register, please give an estimate of how many people will be watching from that one device so that Amazon have an idea of audience size.

The virtual tour is probably best suited to Cubs, Scout and Explorers but if you think your Beaver’s will like it, bring them along. Registration is not limited to those in the UK, we’ll be delighted to welcome all Scouting friends.
